    Wafaa is a bilingual (French and Arabic) Speech and Language Therapist who has worked with children in a variety of different structures. She obtained her Degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the higher institute for nursing professions and health techniques in Rabat Morocco, in 2014.

    Wafaa is a dedicated and caring professional who enjoys working with children in individual as well as group settings. She has vast experience in assessing, diagnosing and offering intervention in different therapy settings including early intervention, special needs schools and clinic settings. Her experience includes working with children with a variety of communication disorders including but not limited to: Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADD, ADHD, Down syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Auditory Processing Disorder, Dysfluency, Articulation disorders, Phonological processes and specific language impairments.

    She is very excited to be joining the Mind Institute team and start a new adventure here in Qatar.

    Madiha Ishtiaq Atif Rehman

    Madiha is a Speech and Language Pathologist and Voice Therapist with over 4 years of experience working with children in a range of different contexts including rehabilitation centers, children’s centers and hospitals.

    Madiha has a BSC (HONS) first division degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the Children Hospital Lahore under the University of Health Sciences. She is also a registered member of PASP (Pakistan Association of Speech & Language Pathologist).

    Madiha is a caring and devoted professional with experience working with children with a range of speech and language difficulties including acute care, long-term acute care, acute rehab and sub-acute rehab. She is specialized in supporting children with developmental delays such as ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Stammering, Aphasia, ADHD etc. She also has knowledge and experience working with children and adolescents with voice disorders including the treatment of VC nodules and polyps, VC paralysis and spasmodic dysphonia.

    Lucy Balzan

    Center Manager

    Lucy serves as the center manager and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and general management of the company. She is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment and providing clients with the optimal level of support and care, tailored to meet each individual child’s need.

    Lucy has spent over 9 years in the education sector in both practitioner and managerial roles. Prior to completing her Leadership and Management qualifications, she trained and qualified ​as an Early Year’s Educator in the UK. She has worked in various roles within the early year’s sector including senior practitioner and coordinator. Along with many other leadership responsibilities, Lucy designed and constructed the learning environment for the early year’s provision, understanding the crucial role it has in children’s learning and development and the effects it can have on their mood, ability to form relationships and their health. Lucy is a strong advocate of the learning opportunities young learners react best to. She has previously helped shape the way that learning is presented, making it an exciting and entertaining aspect of the day.

    Lucy has used her time in Qatar to develop her own skills and her approach to the education of children, drawing upon the rich experiences of other nationalities and the best practices of international organizations.  She has mentored and guided new colleagues and recruited a strong team who have the skills to succeed in a fast developing environment.

    Lucy sees young learners as the future generation who will continue to build an ever better society for us all. With the right support and the correct stimulation, they will unlock their potential in all future endeavors.
