    Ahmad is a licensed Speech Pathologist who gained his Bachelor’s Degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology from Jordan University of Science and Technology. Ahmad is a bilingual therapist who demonstrates great determination when working through obstacles in order to reach significant progress with his clients.

    Ahmad is a caring professional who has a great passion for working with children. He has experience working with a variety of different age groups and cases including verbal and non-verbal clients. Ahmad analyses the speech and language disorders and creates a playful way to provide therapy sessions.

    Ahmad is experienced in assessing and developing receptive and expressive language. He is able to use Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), PECS program and American sign language. Ahmad also received extensive training in session management and (ABLLS) program.

    Ahmad is excited to have joined the Mind Institute team and looks forward to developing his client base here in Qatar.

    Leo is an experienced shadow teacher from the UK. He has been working with children with special educational needs since 2008. His first experience was at a summer camp in the USA specializing in SEN working as a ‘camp counselor’. Leo has a wide range of experience supporting children in mainstream schools and private centers on a 1:1 and group basis. He is a strong believer in continued professional development and has attended training courses such as PECS. Leo is also a qualified Personal Physical Trainer and Nutritionist, which he feels adds another dimension to the support he is able to offer. Leo finds working with children and young people rewarding and believes all children should be treated equally. His goal is to provide each child with the chance to reach their full potential.

    Gillian has been working with children for over 9 years, supporting them with daily living skills, social skills, functional communication, and academics. Also, she has worked with parents and staff, guiding them as they help children reach their potential. She works on making learning fun using the principles of reinforcement and motivation.

    Gillian has helped set up a Centre and Academy in Canada that supports students between the ages of 3 to 17 years. She has worked on home teams as a consultant, attending school meetings and advocating for children. She had also worked with students in school settings as an educational assistant and at home as a Behavioral Interventionist.

    Gillian has her Masters in Science with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, from Capella University, USA. She earned her Bachelor’s in Arts (major in Psychology) from Simon Fraser University (SFU), in Canada. She also has First Aid Training and a Professional Crisis Management certification.  Hence, this is allowing her to deal with injuries and challenging behaviors.

    Amal Ahmed is a bilingual enthusiastic special educator. She gained her Bachelor’s’ degree in Psychology and pre-school education from Al Ahfad University. As well as a higher Diploma in social work, from Khartoum University.

    She worked in Skina Center for children and adolescents with special needs, as well as the Sudan Center for those diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Amal Ahmed believes in continued professional development. So she has attended many workshops including teaching methods of special education. Also, she has attended workshops in teaching technique and Support Learning Program (SLP).

    Moreover, she joined workshops of Developmental Milestones (Age appropriate 0-6 years) communication skills, Gross and fine motor skills, Characteristics of different disorders and Managing Classroom –  Behavioral Strategies.

    Her goal is to support children with special needs. Besides helping them reach their full potential and merge successfully into society.

    Hafsa received her BS Honors degree in Speech and Language Pathology with distinction and then she pursued a Masters in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences. During her undergraduate and graduate studies, she had multiple opportunities to work with children and adolescents with a variety of communication disorders.

    Hafsa has worked within the hospital, school, and private practice setting and feels her expertise lies in school-age pediatric speech and language work. She previously worked specifically on a Developmental Assessment Team and with the IEP (Individualized Educational Program) team and she strongly believes in collaborating with other professionals, in order to achieve the strongest therapeutic outcomes for her clients.
